Look Mom, no hands! (no handles)
Well in this case it should be… look mom, no handles!
Notice the large drawers have no way to pull them open in the photo below? No, it is not a mistake! The drawers below are opened by an electronic device that pushes the drawer open automatically when you touch the front of the drawer. This cool hardware (Grass Tipmatic) allows us to leave off the drawer handles and give the cabinet an ultra sleek look.
Modern architecture has an element of clean lines and smooth surfaces on many projects. In this project we built a beautiful dividing wall from cabinetry to separate two spaces. On one side of the wall, drawers and art niches and on the other side of the wall was a spot for a wall mount TV. Notice how the lines on the cabinets align with the desk and other elements of the room. Pretty cool for mom- she can now open a drawer hands-free and say the same thing, “Look, no hands!”
