Marie HansonMarie, daughter of David and Kim is doing a myriad of things for Hanson Carlen. After high school Marie studied accounting at both EWU and WSU. She handles all the marketing and media for the company and works with Kim in accounting. Marie also keeps track of the various inventory/ materials that need to go to the job. You may occasionally see Marie on the jobsite making lists for the office, dropping off supplies and helping out. She will not ‘carpenter’ so-to-speak. However, when called upon she is a good craftsman as she has worked by David’s side learning numerous skills. It is meaningful and special to have a fourth-generation builder as part of Hanson Carlen. |
Kevin DowsettKevin grew up in Portland, Oregon with his dad, mom, two sisters and a brother (he is the youngest). He has nine nieces and nephews and loves when the family gets together. He and his wife have no children, so they have plenty of time to mountain bike, road bike, wake surf, snow board, and recently he has begun to learn to snow ski. He graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. During college Kevin traveled home from Montana to Oregon and learned to love the Rocky Mountains. In the Spring of 2020, he and his wife moved from Seattle to Spokane to join the team at Hanson Carlen (much to our delight!) and be closer to family in Sandpoint. Kevin is related by marriage to the Farmin Family who founded much of Sandpoint – he hopes to possibly retire there someday. |
Travis BoutenTravis was born and raised in Spokane. He grew up on the north side of town and graduated from North Central High School. Upon graduation, Travis decided to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. The last seven years in the USMC, Travis worked as an explosive ordinance disposal expert. In 2014, he left the Marine Corps and returned to Spokane. After taking a month or so off, Travis enrolled in the Homebuilders Association Carpentry Program and shortly after, to our delight, came to work for Hanson Carlen. Travis and his wife, Jessica, have two children and are enjoying parenthood immensely. |

Jared GroomJared was born in Bellevue, WA and grew up in Kenmore, which is in the Seattle area. After graduation he went to the University of Washington to study art. Not long after, he traveled to Europe for 3 months. Jared is married to his wonderful wife, Tricia; every day they are enjoying their three-year old son, Ellis. Jared enjoys playing the guitar, hiking, camping, and barbecuing with family. He loves being active on his friends and working with wood. One of the most satisfying things Jared enjoys about professional carpentry is, “Seeing at the end of the day the accomplishment in physical form." |
Construction CrewOur construction crews are part of our staff and are valued, key members of our team. Each member of our crew is respectful of you, your family members, and your property. Hanson-Carlen has a 'hands-on' policy of building, which means you will not be turned over to an unknown crew. |
